What is a Telehealth Consultation?
Our GP's are happy to provide appointments via telephone.
With Telehealth you can have your doctor’s appointment from the comfort of your own home. Telehealth is:
- safer in a Covid world, and
- time saving
Telehealth is a Medicare initiative that allows doctors and patients to communicate remotely using online tools like your PC and Skype.
You no longer need to visit the clinic to get medical advice. With telehealth you can talk with your favourite GP whenever you need to, no matter where you are. Of course, some conditions will still be better treated in person – your GP will let you know if this is the case.
Eligibility for a Telehealth Consult
The eligibility for Telehealth has recently changed. You must now have seen any GP from our practice in the last 12 months to be able to have a Telehealth appointment, preferably requesting for telehealth.
Exceptions to this rule are:
- Infants under 12 months old
- People experiencing homelessness.
To claim Medicare rebates, you must be eligible for telehealth. Your eligibility could be checked by going on to http://www.doctorconnect.gov.au/. Payment would be collected after your scheduled telehealth appointment.

Medicare TeleHealth services are now available to ALL Australians.

Please advise us at least 2 hours prior to your appointment if your wish to cancel or cannot attend your consultation. If 2 hours' notice is not given, a fee of $90 will be charged. This applies to all appointments.
Your GP will call at the time of the meeting. Please keep your phone close by. While all our GP's try to be on time, there may be a delay in getting to call you due to unforeseen circumstances.
