About Dr Suntharalingam
Dr Shiamala Suntharalingam graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School (UK) in 1997, then undertook GP training.
She has special interests in women’s health and family planning, including STI checks and contraception insertion/removal. She is also available for ACT Women's Health Matters Free Abortion Services and Long Acting Removable Contraception Services for ACT residents.
Dr Shiamala provides care to patients of all ages, from child health and immunisations to chronic disease management.
She also has interests in preventive care, travel and acute medicine, offering minor procedures such as suturing wounds and skin lesion biopsy/excision (not head or neck).
She speaks Tamil (basic, spoken).

Dr Shiamala only bulk-bills children aged aged 0 - 4 years old between 9am and 2.50pm only. An out of pocket fee applies for all other consults. She does not bulk-bill pension or concession card holders. She holds special clinics for pregnancy termination, menopause management and obesity management with costs differing from standard consults. Kindly speak with our reception staff if in doubt.
